Vienna / Paris, July 2026 – Today, checkyeti, Europe’s leading marketplace dedicated to Outdoor & Nature Experiences, announced the acquisition of Alentour SAS, the French company behind the outdoor experiences marketplace Manawa.
The transaction marks a landmark step in the consolidation of Europe’s outdoor experiences industry, bringing together two highly complementary businesses with a shared ambition: to build Europe’s leading platform for Outdoor & Nature Experiences.
Together, the combined group offers customers access to more than 27,000 Outdoor & Nature Experiences through a network of over 8,000 activity providers across Europe, creating the continent’s largest specialised marketplace for Outdoor & Nature Activities.
Founded in Vienna in 2014, checkyeti has established itself as Europe’s leading platform dedicated to Outdoor & Nature Experiences, with a particularly strong position across both winter and summer activities. Founded in Paris in 2015, Alentour SAS has successfully built Manawa into one of Europe’s leading marketplaces for outdoor adventure activities, with particularly strong positions in France and several other European markets.
Rather than simply adding scale, the transaction combines complementary geographic strengths, product portfolios, technologies and long-standing provider relationships, creating a stronger platform for customers, activity providers and destinations alike.
The broader travel experiences market is one of the fastest-growing segments within global tourism, driven by consumers’ increasing preference for memorable experiences over traditional sightseeing. At the same time, Outdoor & Nature Activities remain significantly under-digitised compared to other travel categories, with a substantial share of bookings still taking place offline. This creates significant opportunities for specialised technology platforms that help activity providers become more visible, more bookable and better equipped to compete in an increasingly digital marketplace.
As digital distribution, artificial intelligence and changing traveller behaviour continue to reshape the industry, scale has become a prerequisite for continued innovation. By joining forces, checkyeti and Manawa aim to accelerate the digital transformation of Europe’s Outdoor & Nature Experiences sector while helping activity providers reach new customer groups, improve operational efficiency and create better experiences for travellers.
Jakob Keller, CEO of checkyeti, commented:
“This transaction reflects the position that checkyeti has built over the past years. We can now actively shape the future of our industry rather than simply participate in it. Our ambition goes far beyond combining two successful businesses. We believe Europe deserves a leading home-grown platform dedicated to Outdoor & Nature Experiences. By joining forces with Manawa, we are taking a decisive step towards that vision while creating greater value for activity providers, destinations and customers across Europe.”
Georg Reich, Co-Founder & COO of checkyeti, added:
“The European outdoor experiences market remains highly fragmented and significantly under-digitised despite its enormous potential. Manawa is an outstanding strategic fit, bringing complementary strengths, deep local expertise and trusted provider relationships. Together, we can invest more in digital distribution, AI-powered customer acquisition, automation and customer experience while creating significantly greater value for both providers and travellers.”
Following the transaction, Alentour SAS becomes part of the checkyeti Group as a separate operating company, while Manawa continues to operate under its established brand and leadership. Both companies will work closely together to leverage their complementary strengths and continue delivering outstanding service to customers and activity providers across Europe.
Timothée de Roux, CEO of Manawa, said:
“Joining checkyeti opens an exciting new chapter for Manawa. Over the past years, we have built a strong platform and trusted relationships with thousands of activity providers across Europe. Becoming part of checkyeti gives us the scale, technology and resources to accelerate that journey and create even more value for our partners and customers. Together, we share the ambition of building Europe’s leading platform for Outdoor & Nature Experiences. At the same time, this transaction strengthens Europe’s digital sovereignty by bringing together two leading European technology platforms in a strategic and growing market.”
The transaction is supported by Banque des Territoires (Caisse des Dépôts Group), one of France’s leading long-term institutional investors. Following the transaction, Banque des Territoires remains a shareholder of the combined group, underlining its continued confidence in the company’s long-term growth strategy.
Camille Rives, Head of Tourism, Banque des Territoires, said:
“Banque des Territoires has supported Manawa from its early stages with the ambition of contributing to the digital transformation of the outdoor tourism sector. This combination with checkyeti represents a new step in the company’s development. By remaining a shareholder, we continue to support its long-term growth and the emergence of a leading European platform for outdoor and nature experiences.”
The acquisition marks an important milestone not only for checkyeti and Manawa, but also for the wider European outdoor experience ecosystem. At a time when many digital travel platforms are increasingly shaped by global players, the transaction reinforces the ambition to build a strong independent European technology platform dedicated to Outdoor & Nature Experiences.
As the sector continues to evolve, larger technology platforms will play an increasingly important role in enabling thousands of independent activity providers to embrace new technologies, reach international travellers and compete successfully in an increasingly digital marketplace.
Together, checkyeti and Manawa are creating the digital infrastructure that will enable thousands of independent outdoor activity providers to thrive in the next generation of European travel while building a true European champion for Outdoor & Nature Experiences.
